The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing social media content and strategies for the brands and campaigns within Corporate Marketing. Additionally, this person will be responsible for interacting directly with clients and customers and the public through social media websites, etc., and will direct other employees to do the same. It is the primary responsibility of the Social Media Manager to ensure all duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

  • Manage Corporate organic social media marketing campaigns and brand channels activities
  • Engage online audiences, both reactively and proactively, ultimately empowering others to talk about the brand
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Account Services, Creative Services and other Corporate Services for the development of online content and implementation including images, videos, content, etc.
  • Partner with Media to recommend initiatives and campaigns that require paid support, and contribute to the development of effective social media budgets to fulfill business objectives
  • Partner with Public Relations and other third parties to execute activations
  • Willingness to experiment and innovate while protecting the company’s brand and staying in compliance with all regulatory, FTC, and company policies related to Social Media activities
  • Develop campaigns and execute strategies with defined KPI’s that measure the overall impact and accurately quantify results with owned, paid and earned media
  • Understand current trends, technologies and advancements in the mobile and social media space
  • Partner with Account Services to oversee production and implementation of hub and hero-level social media campaigns; ability to convey creative ideas to other teams with accuracy
  • Develop day-to-day hygiene including photos, videos, and graphics; Ability to edit content across mediums
  • Bring outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Manage Social Media Strategists on project-oriented tasks such as community management on various platforms, content calendars and execution
  • Manage the social media content calendar and approval of posts in Sprinklr to determine appropriate timelines for posting, engaging, and optimizing content specific to each platform consistent in the brand voice
  • Increase online presence, fans, and follower engagement levels on all brand and venue social media platforms
  • Ensure flawless execution in customer service via social in authentic brand voice and manage response times with Social Strategists
  • Possess an understanding of digital content and creation with the ability to collect on-brand hygiene assets in the format of photo, video, etc.
  • Ability to handle real time, live-coverage of events in the format of Facebook Live, Instagram Stories, Snapchat, and live Tweets
  • Prepare and lead client meetings in partnership with the Social Media Director to discuss status and campaign presentations
  • Assist with monthly and campaign reporting by ensuring all content is tagged appropriately and draw insights followed by action items
  • Participate in crisis communication and execute approved strategies
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or related experience in area
  • At least 5 years of internet marketing/advertising strategy with proven success (preferably within the travel industry)
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to manage conflict in professional manner and provide solutions as a result.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Understands social media universe including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
  • Ability to multitask on different campaigns, projects and research.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (5-10%)
  • Possess knowledge and experience with rudimentary photography with a mobile device and/or DSLR camera.
  • Willingness to learn and accept change on a continual basis.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms; copywriting and editing skills are mandatory
  • Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Resorts International standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Clear understanding and expertise of using the internet and internet related technologies.
  • Experience successfully managing medium-large projects involving participation and coordination of several resources and departments.
  • Experience in managing and working with social media tools and platforms including popular SaaS systems such as Sprinklr, Spredfast, TrackMaven, etc.
  • Expertise reviewing and providing formal recommendations to mid-upper management.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
