In this role;
Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) technical engineering assignments related to hardware and electronic PWB assembly processes and testing. Assignments will include maintenance of PMP data in relevant databases and technical evaluation of manufacturing issues/concerns. Candidate will participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of PMP, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports and work with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement in resolving component, material, or process issues.

This position will be a part of Global Engineering Services, supporting all of the various Mercury Divisions. A willingness to travel periodically to support Mercury AMC (Advanced Manufacturing Centers) in Phoenix, Hudson, NH, and California will be an aspect of this position
You are responsible for;
Assigned projects are moderately complex, requiring initiative and judgment. Assumes responsibility for product after transition from design to volume production Ensures compliance to standards. Ensures that production schedules are followed Follow established engineering principles to determine the sequence of steps or processes required to fabricate and assemble products that meet the organizations standards of quality and cost. Gathers information concerning the capabilities of company products; investigates the technical capabilities of company products; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software; analyzes customer problems; assists in designing systems to satisfy customer needs; performs troubleshooting Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, products, or systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, or applicable codes or regulations. Interface with other departments such as design, test, and reliability engineering to analyze and resolve problems. May develop plans for new system installation and/or modification of existing system. May help improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules.
To succeed in this role;
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or other related technical field. 5 years Materials or process background related to the manufacture of electronic subsystems and circuit card assemblies. Familiar with a variety of materials and process engineering issues including soldering, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, underfill, conformal coating, thermal control, failure analysis and manufacturing operations. Knowledge of Parts, Materials and Processes for development, design, application and production. Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools Familiarity with database management tools and material control processes and documentation such as routers, work instructions, etc.. Understanding of material properties definitions and previous electronic hardware assembly is highly desired.
Familiarity with SAP, LEO and Q-Note systems is a plus. Ability to multi-task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines. Technical team leadership experience.
