In Global Markets, Operations Engineers build highly-scalable, low-touch systems that enable the sales and trading activities of Goldman Sachs across all asset classes (fixed income, equities, currencies and commodities). Our systems are critical for the accurate and timely processing of transactions worth hundreds of billions of dollars every day. As part of our global teams, you will work with other Engineers as well as with Operations, Sales and Trading and Finance professionals in a fast-paced environment to bring your skills to bear on the challenges and opportunities of the businesses and clients of Goldman Sachs. We are looking to hire a Vice President to act as a Team Lead in Salt Lake City while we grow our footprint here.

GLOBAL MARKETS OPERATIONS

Operating at the center of global financial markets, our Global Markets professionals serve institutional clients including Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Banks and Brokerages, Pensions, Endowments and Foundations, Corporations, and Governments. We seek to deliver to our clients leading market insight, risk management and execution, helping them to raise money, invest, and transfer risk across financial asset classes.

Global Market Operations provides client onboarding support, post-trade transaction services and post-trade portfolio services. Our Client Coverage Group manages key client relationships to enhance the client experience front to back. We support the FICC and Equities businesses to develop and deliver new products, services and markets. Operations is at the core of Goldman Sachs. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that enables business to flow.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

• Maintain, support, improve & administer the Firm's business-critical securities trade processing applications
• Create and support automation tooling to improve the reliability of the platform and to increase the productivity of the team.
• Run the Production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
• Balance feature development velocity and reliability with well-defined SLOs
• Drive incident management process and support a blameless post-mortems culture
• Partner with development teams to improve services via rigorous testing and release procedures
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding and / or systems engineering
• Proficiency in Java and shell scripting
• Ability to handle multiple on-going assignments and be able to work independently in addition to contributing as part of a highly collaborative and globally dispersed team
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas and solutions
• Experience with supporting large and distributed systems
• Hand-on experience with debugging and optimizing code

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Strong interpersonal skills, drive, and ownership
• Coding beyond simple scripts
