Sitet Manager Mulgrave directs manufacturing operations through a team of functional managers and front-line supervisors, ensuring increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving consistency, reliability, quality and the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. The position is responsible for the safety of the operation and site personnel, including visitors and contractors and reports to VP Operations Americas.
In the position of Site Manager Mulgrave, you will:
Define and implement site manufacturing plan, in line with the agreed strategic and manufacturing plan of the BG/BU, in order to ensure production and delivery of premix products in line with agreed planning and specifications.
Monitor the execution of the site manufacturing plan and take corrective actions when necessary, in order to achieve agreed objectives.
Identify and analyze potential operational and SHE risks, give recommendations and, after approval, implement countermeasure, in order to meet established objectives.
Be involved in ‘crisis management’ in case of calamities on the site.
Develop, implement and manage a cost effective and efficient site organization, standard working processes and systems, to enable optimal business performance.
Ensure implementation of HR structures and systems, in line with DSM and HR guidelines and systems, and manage, coach and motivate site employees, in order to guarantee a motivated, trained and committed workforce that meets current and future requirements in terms of quality, quantity and people development.
Ensure implementation of finance and administration structures and systems, including insurances and tax, in line with relevant DSM and functional guidelines, requirements and systems, in order to facilitate operations, in line with business, management and legal requirements.
Ensure formulation, approval and management of the yearly cost budget for the site organization, in order to have the right finances available.
Ensure definition and implementation of lagging and leading performance indicators (supported by clear accountabilities/responsibilities and a meeting structure) and periodical reporting of actual performance against these indicators, in order to facilitate (timely) decision taking.
What we want to see in you:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required; degree in Chemical engineering or mechanical engineering preferred
Master’s degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred
Minimum 10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment required
Experience in an oil-refining processing environment preferred
Previous site/plant/unit operations management required
Previous leadership experience in a cGMP Food (or biotech/pharmaceutical) environment preferred
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams required
Experience directly managing others required
Experience working in a chemical operations environment necessary
Industrial Safety, Health and Environment and regulatory knowledge and experience required
Team building skills
Must combine visionary and long-term perspective with need to show results
Project management experience
