The Regional Manager reports directly to the country General Manager. Responsible for managing all operational processes in the region at the field base level.  Operational tasks include, but are not limited to the following: distribution, gross profit, and inventory management, equipment demand management (S&OP), service performance, human resources, development and implementation of operational standards, performance of key HSE requirements and environment programs, quality management, managing service demand, and administration at multiple base locations within a defined region. 



  • Operations
    • Lead, direct and oversee all field operations in the region for all service and product lines (Business Lines)
  • Select, manage and develop field-base managers and other staff in the region to:
    • Ensure the health and safety of all FMC, customer and related third-party personnel
    • Ensure conformance to all applicable environmental-protection requirements
    • Maximize the number of FMC services and products being delivered
    • Integrate the SIS field organization and, to the maximum extent possible, deliver multiple services and products as “One FMC” on customer sites
    • With input from Sales, accurately forecast 4-month demand
    • Flawlessly execute customer orders to customer requirements and to performance and quality standards set by the Business Lines (“Delivering Superior Service”)
    • Ensure timely availability of competent human assets
    • Work with Business Line management to ensure timely availability of physical assets
    • Maximize utilization of all assets, both human and physical
    • Rigorously follow best-practice inventory-management processes to ensure availability to customer demand whilst minimizing investment and preventing write-offs
    • Optimize the region’s field structure to most efficiently serve external customers (“Built to Serve”)
    • Maximize market share and profitability
  • Own the P&L and balance sheet for the region
  • Develop solid working relationships with regional customers
  • Support Sales in winning business by:
    • Leveraging above customer working relationships
    • Providing input regarding bid price (discount level), delivery time/conditions and other bid parameters
    • Planning resources that will be deployed in event of winning a bid
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting (KPIs, P&L, BS)
  • Ensure compliance with standards (per QA audits) and execute gap-closure plans in a timely manner


  • HR, Organizational Development, and Company Culture
    • Lead, coach, train and mentor current and any future field managers
    • Creates an environment where people feel comfortable sharing ideas and encourages teamwork to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for base manager competency assessments. Responsible for enforcing human resources policies, practices and people development of the region.


  • HSE
    • Support, sustain and continue to improve FMC Technologies HSE performance objectives.
    • Promoting a workplace environment that fosters a positive HSE culture
    • Develop action plans and programs to meet annual HSE objectives
    • Ensure all safety related equipment and supplies are available for employees.
    • Ensure monthly safety meetings are being held within the region and documented.
    • Verify Fleet Manager on all vehicle leases and ensure all scheduled maintenance is compliant.
    • Responsible for the health, safety, and environment programs and initiatives for the region.


  • Finances
    • Coordinate with the Controller to assemble annual regional budget information.
    • Review regional financial statements and provide feedback.
    • Work towards achieving all key financial objectives established within budget.
    • Monitor regional expenses and ensure the PO process is followed within region. 
    • Facilitates and monitors key financial performance indicators to ensure profitability of field locations.


  • Compliance
    • Leading by example by following all Company policies and ensuring their direct reports do the same.
    • In coordination with the other Regional Managers and the appropriate business line develops and implements field base standards.



  • Experience and Education
    • Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience.  MBA preferred.
    • 8 – 12 years of experience in field or Aftermarket position.
    • 5 – 7 years of experience in a management or leadership position.


  • Technical Knowledge
    • Specific industry training would be an asset.
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, FIRE, and SAP
    • Knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) and Industrial Standards Organization (ISO) standards and Total Quality Management Skills.
    • Must have an understanding of Engineering Processes and equipment manufacturing knowledge.
    • Significant knowledge of the services and products offered in the region.
    • Demonstrated ability in budget preparation, cost control, and financial aptitude.

    • Good communications and interpersonal skills are critical in order to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel.
    • Exceptional organization skills with a high attention to detail in base operations, material planning, service management, and financial environments
