STV Group is a private, employee-owned corporation offering engineering, architectural, planning, environmental and construction management services through its companies.  

We currently have an opening for a Signals/Train Control Project Engineer to work on rail and transit projects.

Responsibilities:

The Signal Project Engineer’s duties will include at a minimum the following:

  • Development of procurement documents
  • Detailed designs
  • Cost estimates
  • Product reviews
  • Design reviews
  • Constructionsupport and other responsibilities as needed by the position.

The position requires that the individual must be willing to travel and have expertise in solid-state and conventional relay-based signaling system

 

Knowledge:

The successful candidate shall have experience in the following areas:

  • Detailed design of signal systems
  • Block design
  • Vital and non-vital processor programming
  • Relay circuit design
  • Cable plan design and field equipment layout.
  • Development of contract specifications for third party contracts, preparing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Design of systems and support during construction phase of the project.
  • Review supplier and/or contractor submittals and product data and support installations, testing and cutovers.
  • Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.
  • Technical bid analyses.

 

Required Skills:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in signal system design/integration
  • Experience with Rail Road / Transit signal system designs required
  • Good Planning, organizational and communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • LEED certification
  • Experience with AutoCAD and or Microstation
  • Good Planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) experiencepreferred
  • Positive Train Control (PTC) experiencepreferred
