Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Develop multi-object, multi-sensor tracking and data fusion solutions to support complex missions involving multiple system and subsystem interactions as both an Individual Contributor and a Technical Lead
  • Provide technical leadership (along with hands on participation) for SPC development activities related to tracking and data fusion and be part of the team to drive the solutions into our products
  • Communicate with customers (internal and external) to understand requirements and communicate capabilities
  • Actively participate in definition of team objectives and creation of solutions to complex technical tasks including system design decisions involving trade studies, requirements allocation, and verification methods
  • Develop design studies ranging from initial concept trades through final performance evaluations
  • Design, implement and analyze system performance and associated risk assessments in simulation, hardware subsystem test, and flight test environments
  • Engage across engineering disciplines to ensure proper implementation and test of tracking and data fusion designs
  • Pursue and oversee advanced development funding both internal and external to Raytheon
  • Provide support for programs through participation in project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers
  • Be a strong advocate for technical integrity across multiple programs or product lines
  • Be responsible for technical growth of apprentices
  • Demonstrate ability to continuously adapt to changing business needs

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Twelve (12) years of engineering experience in tracking and data fusion system algorithm architecture and development
  • Four (4) years of demonstrated systems team leadership experience
  • System design experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines, such as test, electronics, mechanical, and software engineering
  • Broad knowledge of signal processing to understand system level requirements allocation and dependencies, as well as conduct trades studies and performance analysis at the systems level
  • Recent work experience assessing program level risks to performance objectives and communicating status to business leadership and customer community
  • Proficiency with Matlab and C/C++ programming language, familiarity with optimization techniques
  • Applied work experience presenting technical data and interacting with customer community in design reviews and technical interchange meetings
  • Patent applications, invention disclosures and/or reviewed publications in applicable technical areas within the past five (5) years
  • Subject matter expertise developing multi-object, multi-sensor tracking and data fusion solutions for complex systems

  • A “big thinker” who does not operate in a silo, but can think about where a program or product line is heading or needs to go, while considering the technical aspects of how to get there
  • Experience in aerospace/military systems development
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or related fields


Required Education (including Major):

  • B.S. from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or related engineering or scientific discipline
