L3 Advanced Programs is seeking a Signal Processing Engineer in our Burlington, MA facility for diverse duties related to sonar and radar system development.  The individual will have a strong background in signal processing fundamentals, including transducers/antennas, acoustic/RF and processing subsystems, beamforming and adaptive array processing, target detection and estimation theory, target tracking, steered arrays, as well as system level testing.  Knowledge andexperience with passive sonar systems is also desirable.  L3 Advanced Programs offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a highly diverse team of engineers with decades ofexperience in turnkey embedded signal processing system designs.   



  •   BS (MSpreferred) Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum of five years of experience developing and implementing sonar or radar algorithms in real-time embedded systems
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems such as VxWorks
  • Experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with Matlab signal processing analysis
  • Detailed understanding of sonar and/or radar fundamentals, employment, capabilities and processing
  • In-depth understanding of sonar and/or radar signal processing techniques
  • Understanding sensor operations and employment including cooperative engagements
  • Experience with defining, analyzing and reviewing sonar and/or radar requirements
  • In depth experience with digital signal processing concepts including FFT
  • Knowledge of advanced transducer/antenna technologies and performance inclusive of arrays and associated beamforming techniques
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate designs, results, reports and presentation
  • Active Secret security clearance is required


  • Domain knowledge in Sensors, Network Communications, Command & Control.
  • Proficiency with scientific computing environments, models, and/or simulations such as the following: Matlab, or similar tools
  • Possess a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
  • Experience working across all organizational levels
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Active Top Secret clearance is preferred
