As a Signal Integrity (SI) Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you will be responsible for working with the Signal Integrity Research and Development (SI R&D) team as it supports all of Micron's current and future product developments. Major product technologies developed at Micron include DRAM, LPDRAM, RLDRAM, NAND, NOR, HBM, 3DXP, managed NAND, and Solid-State Drives (SSDs) within the consumer, server, mobile, networking, graphics, automotive, and embedded businesses. The SI R&D team works on analysis of end-to-end systems solutions such as circuit level, integrated circuit (IC) packages, printed circuit boards (PCBs) and measurements to ensure good signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) performance for Micron's memory solutions. The team owns all steps of the SI and PI support processes including die and package model generation, product performance analysis, system-level SI evaluation, measurement, correlation, and customer support. The team also supports future specification development within several industry standards groups such as JEDEC, ONFI, and IBIS. The group working environment is technically challenging, team-oriented, collaborative, and customer-centric. As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and analysis of high-speed memory interfaces. You will be involved in different product development efforts, primarily responsible for creating IBIS and HSPICE models for memory die, IC packages, and other memory products. You will perform simulation and analysis using various time and frequency domain simulators to ensure model quality. You will support and learn from senior Signal Integrity Engineers while interacting with package design, silicon design, product engineering, applications engineering and marketing departments. Additional responsibilities include external customer support and group methodology development.


  • BSEE
  • Required courses covering electromagnetic and transmission line theory, CMOS circuit design and VLSI design principles
  • Required to have exposure or understanding gained through academic experience to simulation, modeling, and IC layout tools such as:
  • HSPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, ADS, MATLAB, and others
  • Required work experience or understanding gained through academic experience of lab measurement equipment including the following:
  • Oscilloscopes, TDR, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Spectrum Analyzer, etc.
  • Very desirable to have experience with I/O design, signal integrity principles, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout techniques
  • Very desirable to have exposure to E.M. field solvers (quasi-static and full wave) such as:
  • Q3D, SIwave, HFSS, etc.
  • Knowledge or understanding of DRAM and NAND signaling standards.
  • Self-motivated - candidate should enjoy taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
