What You Will Do:



As the Area Vice President of Operations you will serve as a key executive for the hospice organization and serve as the area leader with responsibility to develop and implement and carry out the hospice programs and initiatives set forth by the company, throughout his/her established territory, and to direct the clinical operations and financial operations. You will lead and assist the Directors, Administrators, and other members of the management team to carryout quality services in the region.


  • Organizes and directs all of the agencies' ongoing functions and participates on the budget committee.
  • Serves as a liaison among the governing body, the professional advisory group, the professional and business staff.
  • Develop, manage and support the operational leaders and management team for multiple centers within the territory
  • Recruit, hire, assign, and evaluate the leadership staff throughout the territory
  • Participates in development, interpretation, and implementation of all policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to positively impact the assigned market and region
  • Partner with all members of the medical community to promote home care and hospice services.
  • Extensive overnight travel to conduct onsite business needs of the organization and multi-site operations throughout the assigned region(s) and territories





Required:


  • A licensed physician; (or)
  • A Registered Nurse; (or)
  • Has training and experience in health service administration and at least one (1) year of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care or related health programs.*
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulations and reimbursement in hospice care.
  • Demonstrates expertise in personnel management, leadership, and financial management.
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and required liability insurance and frequent and extensive travel.



*some states have additional requirements related to years and types of experience beyond these general requirements


Preferred:


  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related field; business and/or management
  • Three (3) or more years supervisory experience within home health, hospice or healthcare industry
