Job Description

Services O&M is looking for an experienced and highly motivated people manager to govern a diverse technical team that provides NOC infrastructure and application management. In addition, the appointed leader will own the O&M Solution Technology Portfolio and perform the roles of product manager, engineering manager, and project manager. The selected candidate will combine managerial responsibilities with in-depth, hands-on technical expertise to successfully achieve the following goals: NOC automation & virtualization; predictive analytics & proactive services; operationalize disruptive technologies (SDN, NFV, CORD, Open ROADM, 5G), introduce SolaaS (SD-WAN, Smart City, IoT); evolve into an Open Access Network Operator. This position will report to the Service Operations Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train employees

Infrastructure & Application Accountabilities

  • Underpin OSS & BSS environments that enable the day-to-day delivery of managed network services
  • Design, install, maintain, and retire network operating system (switch, router, firewall)
  • Design, install, maintain, and retire physical & virtual server technologies (OS, storage, backup, disaster recovery)
  • Install, integrate, and release manage internally developed and third party software applications
  • Operationalize new software applications (protocol, user training, troubleshoot, problem resolution)
  • Oversee vendor management (partnership agreements, SOW, SLAs, maintenance contracts)
  • Establish standards and procedures that allow ways of working to be agile and adaptable to change
  • Develop monitoring tools, reports, and dashboards that capture predefined KPIs on OSS & BSS performance
  • Ensure NOC mission critical tools and applications are highly available

Solution Technology Product Manager Accountabilities

  • Develop an operational delivery model that implements new technologies to meet strategic business objectives
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Service Delivery, and Service Operations to define customer solution requirements
  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with internal and external technology providers
  • Research advanced and emerging technologies to understand the impact on existing architecture and service offerings
  • Provide technical direction and business guidance to meet customer and financial commitments

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor Degree or higher

  • Knowledge in network virtualization, cloud technologies, server installation, server management
  • Knowledge in SDN/NFV, VNF, VIM, SD-WAN, Linux (Red Hat 6 or higher), OpenStack, Orchestrators
  • Scripting and programming knowledge
  • Knowledge in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, SolaaS
  • Experience supporting new product deployments, test plan creation and execution
  • Comfortable performing product vendor evaluations
  • Exposure to various database systems, programming languages, web frameworks, visualization libraries
  • Knowledge with designing and building web applications, GUI design, web service communication protocols
