SUMMARY: The ServiceNow IT Configuration Management Engineer is a self-motivated individual with attention to detail and an eagerness to contribute to the CMDB implementation project. He/she is primarily responsible for supporting the asset and configuration management process and will lead daily configuration management activities including the identification, analysis and control of hardware/software configuration changes, and the validation of CI data integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Oversees the day-to-day maintenance and updating of the CMDB.
  • Assists in the integration of Discovery, CMDB and Asset Management.
  • Validates, reports and audits information within the configuration management database.
  • Partners with Service Delivery and Application Support teams to drive smooth governance around configuration items.
  • Monitors health, usage, and overall compliance of the CMDB.
  • Maintains concise technical and process documentation.
  • Mentors and trains resources on CMDB process/governance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related IT field and/or 3+ years of practical experience in ITIL service management functions and processes. Must also possess the following experience:

  • 2 - 4 years working with ServiceNOW
  • Experience and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform administration, workflow and web services
  • Broad understanding of all aspects of applications and infrastructure components
  • ITIL Foundations Certification a plus
