The opportunity:

  • Actively participate in the complete software development lifecycle for an enterprise Service Management (SM) tool (ServiceNow), including design, development and implementation of ServiceNow customizations, configuration, reporting and analytics.
  • Leveraging best practices and procedures related to IT service management, the Senior-level ServiceNow Developer will develop and analyze functional requirements, identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to business requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with ServiceNow modules including: Performance Analytics & Reporting, Project & Portfolio Management, Time Reporting, HR Service Delivery and all ITSM modules (Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Asset, Service Levels).
  • The ServiceNow Developer will work closely with business and IT teams to gather input in support of ongoing business needs for ServiceNow configuration, implementation and support.
  • As new technologies emerge and impact ServiceNow, the ServiceNow Developer is expected to learn these solutions quickly and resolve any problems involved in interfacing new applications with our systems.

 How you will impact WestRock:

  • Supports the full lifecycle of the ServiceNow platform (releases, enhancement, upgrades, etc.).
  • Establishment and adherence to ServiceNow development standards.
  • Solve complex problems, design user-friendly interfaces and optimize processes through automation.
  • Creation and documentation of test cases as required for Service Management (SM) tool changes.
  • Workflow design, management and orchestration between tools and groups.
  • Support all ITIL processes adopted by WestRock.
  • Support Service Management (SM) analytics, including all operational reporting aspects of SM tool (SLAs, KPIs, dashboards, ad hoc, etc.) using ServiceNow Performance Analytics.
  • Serve as a resource for user acceptance testing for tool upgrades and enhancements.
  • Provide system administration support as needed.
  • Provide support as required for configuration management process (CMDB) and other Master Data Maintenance.
  • Maintain routine status of compliance to identified key processes and policies.
  • Analyze and verify process execution for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility and conformity to standards.
  • Maintain the technical landscape integrity for SM tool, and adopt best practices as appropriate.
  • Responsible for identifying areas of potential process improvement, and reporting them to management.
  • Facilitate Master Data loads and other integration requirements related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Participate in efforts to improve or revise existing processes or policies.
  • Analyze and verify process execution for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility and conformity to standards.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats, i.e. Administrator, Business Analyst, Tester, Developer.

What you need to succeed:

  • Certified ServiceNow Application Developer strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, IT discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience administering an enterprise ServiceNow environment is required.
  • Requiredexperience in JavaScript, SOAP, REST Web Services and UI/UX design.
  • Extensive experience in ServiceNow deployment, design, architecture and operations, including customer portal, Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM), Project Portfolio Management, Service Mapping and Performance Analytics.
  • Desiredexperience in Angular JS, HTML, Bootstrap, JSON, JQuery and Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Internal knowledge of WestRock or other manufacturing operations a plus.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.  Accurate and process-oriented.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Service Management fundamentals certification preferred (ITIL, COBIT, Six Sigma, etc.)
