 Position Summary:

The Service Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day service operations, special mechanical projects groups, and the client relationship development.  Identify resources needed to complete work and pursue productivity improvements, along with troubleshooting and resolving complex problems. You will grow several areas of the business including service orders, project efficiencies and PM retention and development.  The Operations Manager will also be passionate about field staff interaction and staff development while striving for maximum employee engagement.

 

What you'll do:

  • Accountable for the entire service implementation side of the business and financial results of committed cost
  • Ensure the completion of all preventive maintenance contracts, service projects, pull through orders and T&M within the business portfolio.
  • Supervise service operation personnel, project managers and accounts within the business, including project organization, definition, planning, implementation and control
  • Supervises operational activities on an ongoing daily basis, exercising tight cost control and maximizing price realization
  • Establishes a team culture among division personnel and holds the team accountable for a high standard of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure billings are reviewed monthly and any deviation in the monthly financial results can be justified
  • Assist the sales team with operational support to secure new business and take the lead on driving all pull through and T&M orders
  • Work in a team environment as a support function with a matrix reporting structure that includes managers, sales, estimating, design/CAD, construction & service personnel
  • Recruit, hire, and retain successful employees for the organization
  • Implements performance management in a disciplined manner including, but not limited to, personnel development plans, goal setting, regularly scheduled 1-1’s, and quarterly goal reviews

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration or other related field.  Experience can be substituted for Education
  • 10 to 15 years of service management experience for a control systems and/or HVAC organization
  • Significant knowledge of HVAC and overall building systems is required
  • Significant experience in managing a service business greater than $5M in revenue
  • Very significant service, contracting, operations, and people management skills
  • Significant presentation, verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with customers, vendors and employees
