The Service Engineer I/II –Windows/ AD /Exchange will be a core member of our Tier 3 team accountable for the uptime, stability and security of our customer’s Windows environments. The role includes supporting environments from large and small customers as well as customers within cloud environments with a wide variety of technologies. This exposure enables great technical growth potential not generally available when working within a single company environment.

This role will be expected to work across many departments and teams in support of delivering services to OneNeck clients; breaking down any barriers to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The Service Engineer I/II – Windows / AD / Exchange continuously develops technical plans, conducts technical reviews, and executes upon plans in support of incident, change, and problem management efforts. This role will be called upon as a subject matter expert across many departments and teams.

 

**Please note:  We can hire this position as a Service Engineer I – Windows / AD / Exchange or Service Engineer II – Windows / AD / Exchange. Requirements for each position are listed in the qualifications section. We will assess applicants based on skills set and years of relevant experiences.**

Responsibilities

  • Support Active Directory infrastructure with various designs and architecture
  • Fulfill service requests and resolve incidents related to Directory Services
  • Design, implement and support Group Policies
  • Provide support and administration Azure and Microsoft Office 365
  • Provide support and administration of Microsoft Exchange and related email technologies
  • Support and troubleshoot RDS environments ensuring user connectivity and usability, etc.
  • Aid in the support and administration of various SharePoint environments
  • Provide support and administration of Remote Domain Controllers & File and Print Servers, etc.
  • Adhere to service management processes and procedures (Change, Incident, Problem)
  • Conduct technical peer reviews of change plans and activities; providing recommendations, guidance, and authorization as appropriate.
  • Daily interaction and administration of virtualization technologies like VMware, HyperV, etc.
  • Support environments with various types of storage and SAN technologies.
  • Interact regularly with backups and the backup team to ensure healthy system backups and proper configurations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by consulting with Applications and other services who utilize Active Directory. Provide recommendations on best practices for integration
  • Provide after hours and on-call support as part of a rotation
  • Deliver results in a fast-paced environment, while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Review existing technology and implement improvements/upgrades.
  • Be an escalation point for issues and requests that cannot be serviced by other groups, working issue to resolution, improving upon process, procedure, and knowledge to reduce future escalations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Service Engineer I - Windows / AD / Exchange 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) OR 4+ years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Windows support environment, including Exchange. 
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.

Service Engineer II - Windows / AD / Exchange 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) OR 4+ years of professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Windows support environment, including Exchange.
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.

Other Qualifications

  • Microsoft Technology Specialist, Solutions Associate certification.
  • ITIL V3 foundation certification.
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills.
  • Advanced analytical, statistical, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Results and execution oriented, self-motivated requiring minimal supervision.
  • Advanced communication skills regarding project teams and management.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
