JOB SUMMARY: The Sensory Scientist works independently, with minimum supervision and guidance. Responsible for the continuous improvement of sensory methods that make Gustatec a recognized center of excellence for sensory consumer food and beverage industry.
Plan, organize, and execute sensorial analysis of aroma and taste modulators in various food and beverage applications.
Manage delivery of efficient, high quality sensory services for internal research and external clients
Aid in the development of written business proposals for new projects/clients in support of the research supplier business.
Lead sensory activities: provide sensory support and expertise to innovation/renovation and shelf life projects
Partner with management and scientists to develop sensory strategies in support of project priorities for the needs of the company
Effectively present insights and provide recommendations to program and project
Actively contribute and participate in client meetings
Identify, assess and resolve project issues within sensory
Lead and develop a team of panel leaders and technicians by managing the daily activities of panel leaders and technicians
All other duties as assigned
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sensory evaluationin the consumer healthcare, food or beverage industry
Proven project management ability; ideally as an independent leader of an in-house sensory operation or a sensory CRO.
Mastery of statistical analysis and interpretation of sensory data (discrimination and descriptive tests) using FIZZ and analysis software programs (XLSTAT, SenPaq, R, others…)
Excellent verbal and written skills
Communication skills to effectively interactwith internal and external clients
Knowledge of Perception Science, Psychophysics and Molecular Sensory
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
