The Senior Windows Systems Administrator will monitor and maintain systems in 24x7 highly-available production environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and articulate, familiar with Microsoft operating systems (2008R2, 2012 and 2016), related software technologies and have a proven history of using administrative tools and automating routine administration tasks.

  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware settings, directories, etc. in accordance with standards project/operational regulations.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as required.
  • Be part of On-Call rotation, responsible for off-hours support and monthly maintenance support

Requirements and Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience with MS Active Directory (2003 & 2012), DNS, GPO and DHCP

Microsoft Exchange (2010 &2016), and eMail Gateways

  • Understanding of and experience with Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory & Domain architecture, NTFS permissions, DNS, OS security, and systems patching.
  • Must have experience with using systems monitoring software (e.g. SolarWinds) to collect and manage events and system status.
  • Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner
  • Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues.
  • Advanced time management skills to multitask many projects at one time
  • VMware Virtualization knowledge (VSphere 6.x, SRM)
  • UCS Server Hardware Knowledge
  • Remote Access Knowledge (e.g. Citrix and VPN)
  • Backup Software Technologies (e.g. Commvault)
  • EMC and HP SAN storage technologies
  • Education/Experience/Degree Requirements: BA/BS Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Microsoft Certified Professional desired
  • 5+ plus years of proven Systems Administration (MSWindows)
