Position Summary:

The Senior Operations Executive will oversee and lead the Senior Operations Management team to achieve operational growth and budgeted profit targets, responsible for 5 - 10 direct reports and over 3000 employees. Key priorities will include profit and loss (P&L) reporting, establishing standardized metrics, formulating and administering company policies, account management and identification of growth opportunities.

This role will require 50% to 60% travel to facilities within the designated region.


Responsibilities of the Regional Operations Executive:

  • Establish a strategic plan, key objectives and an organizational structure across the region
  • Lead with continuous improvement/lean principles to create highly engaged culture
  • Outline specific performance metrics and benchmarking activities to drive improvement
  • Increase earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) margins in each facility to meet or beat the budget goal
  • Establish labor metrics and energy usage tracking for each location
  • Support workforce management system (WMS) implementations, and deliver monthly management discussion and analysis (MD&A) and forecasting reports
  • Motivate and lead staff, decreasing cost and improving profitability and client relationships
  • Develop and execute on strategy / annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, customer plans, workshops, etc.)

Required Qualifications of the Regional Operations Executive:

  • 10+ years of senior-level multi-site management over distribution and warehouse operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Continuous improvement quality process experience (i.e. Six Sigma, ISO, Lean)
  • Demonstrated success in Supply Chain Management, Distribution, Transportation, Inventory Control and/or Process Improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and efficiency gains
  • Demonstrated experience in building, rebuilding and developing teams
  • Experience working in a cold food storage environment
  • Exceptional Client Relationship Experience
  • Previous experience having responsibility for over 300 million in revenue
  • Experience having led over 2,500 employees
  • Strategic thinking

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Operations Executive:

  • Sector experience (i.e. food & grocery, retail, consumer packaged goods)
  • Experience working with companies such as Walmart, Meijer, Target, and Trader Joes
  • MBA degree
  • Safety program compliance (OSHA, DOT)
  • Experience with overseeing 30+ sites
  • 3PL or 4PL knowledge
