Job Summary:

Lead and manage verification test projects working together with the core development team. Design, develop, and execute demonstration (manual) test procedures. Write test plans, develop schedule and manage test resources assigned to verification test projects (internal and external teams). Analyze test results and write test reports. Mentor less experienced test engineers. Support process improvement efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and manage system verification test efforts on projects involving in-house and outsourced teams for timely completion of system verification projects
  • Write and execute test plans for system verification test development and formal test execution that include effort estimates, schedules, and resource assignments
  • Review requirements for accuracy and testability to support test development and test planning (development and execution)
  • Contribute to cross-functional, concurrent engineering teams representing the system verification team
  • Mentor less experienced test engineers
  • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system and support process improvement initiatives
  • Design, develop, review, and execute demonstration (manual) test procedures and automated test

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 7 - 10 years relevant industry experience
  • BS engineering, physics or computer science (or equivalent work experience)
  • Demonstrated experience writing test plans (effort estimation, scheduling, resource allocation), analyzing test results, and writing reports
  • Demonstrated experience participating in product requirements reviews, design reviews, test reviews, and change control activities
  • Demonstrated experience in a test lead capacity working with core development teams and managing a test project to efficiently driving the test project to completion
  • Demonstrated experience in product development from concept to release including test life cycle
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to product design and requirement definition to ensure product testability
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft applications (Word and Excel)
  • Experience with the application of test principles, theories, concepts, practices, and standards to improve test processes and practices across multiple projects
  • Experience defining relevant test metrics to monitor test project progress
  • Experience managing internal and external test resources (Preferred)
  • Experience using DOORS, Jama, JIRA, Git, Jenkins (Preferred)
  • Experience and/or training in a ISO, FDA or other regulated industry (Preferred)
  • Experience in TCL, Expect, and/or Ruby programming language (Preferred)
  • Understanding of C++ and object oriented design (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of project management practices (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of risk management for medical devices ISO14971 (Desired)
  • Experience in medical ultrasound imaging (Desired)
