Responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement credit underwriting strategy for multiple lines of business
Effectively manage all risks in underwriting to ensure portfolio is within risk appetite
Lead team of underwriting managers, underwriters & analysts. Provides mentoring, training, advising and assistance to their team during the underwriting process
Builds ongoing relationships with internal/external customers and other parties. Collaborates with senior business partners and key stakeholders
Leads or participates in responses to audit or risk assessment issues and oversees mitigation activities for the Credit Underwriting group
Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and provides recommendations for process improvement
Ongoing portfolio and collateral monitoring
Quality Assurance ? Monitoring of loans underwritten to clients
Planning and delivery of key tools/systems used in underwriting and portfolio management
Leads efforts to attract, develop, motivate and retain top talent.
Identifies training and development needs of the team.
Participates in developing and implementing credit underwriting strategy for segment and/or line of business. Leads a team of underwriting managers or may supervise a team of underwriters. Provides mentoring, training, advising and assistance to their team during the underwriting process.
Leads and serves as a point of escalation to staff in performing underwriting responsibilities. Oversees work product quality of team, including satisfying portfolio metrics as applicable.
Builds ongoing relationships with internal/external customers and other parties. Collaborates with senior business partners and key stakeholders.
Leads or participates in responses to audit or risk assessment issues and oversees mitigation activities for the Credit Underwriting group. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and provides recommendations for process improvement. Leads and participates in special initiatives.
Leads efforts to attract, develop, motivate and retain top talent. Identifies training and development needs of the team. Coaches team members.

Assesses and effectively manages all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure activities are in alignment with the bank's and unit's risk appetite and risk management framework.
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Subject Matter Expertise, Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions.
Credit Analysis and Verification - Subject Matter Expertise
Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and practices for determining the credit-worthiness of an applicant.
Regulatory Environment - Financial Services - Extensive Experience
Knowledge of and ability to help an organization adapt to applicable federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting business practices.
Financial Analysis - Subject Matter Expertise
Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Knowledge of Underwriting - Subject Matter Expertise
Knowledge of the full spectrum of underwriting activities, practices, tools and considerations, and the ability to utilize these to manage the underwriting process.
Operational Functions - Extensive Experience
Requires a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a master?s degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experiencerequired. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.
