We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation-Infrastructure Practice.
This Senior Transportation Engineer position is a specialized role and comes with specific requirements related to alternative project development methodology expertise. The individual will be responsible for leading the effort to provide advisory services to local and national transportation agencies for alternative project delivery methods. This role will focus primarily on Public Private Partnership (P3) consultation/owner’s representative services and will include best value delivery methods and structuring, screening, industry research & best practices, risk analyses, procurement support and project management. Additional responsibilities may include helping agencies develop P3 programs, integrating P3 projects into comprehensive transportation plans and helping to create an environment in which P3 methods can be useful for transportationproject delivery under the right circumstances. P3 guideline development, project feasibility analysis, policy development, outside agency coordination, education of elected officials, transportation agency officials and the public are also elements of this role in which past experience is desirable.
Interacting with staff and clients with a variety of backgrounds and specialization will be a significant aspect to this position. Good communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 8+ years of transportation engineering experience with at least 4 years' experience in alternative project delivery or project procurement activities desired; IDOT or other state DOT experience is required
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain license within 6 months
- Familiarity with highway planning, design and cost estimation desired
