PURPOSE:

Responsible for translating category initiatives into customer-specific marketing plans, as well as identifying and communicating customer needs to marketing team. Leverage category and consumer insights to identify and execute customer-specific growth opportunities. Work closely with Sales Managers to achieve strategic objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify “white space” and distribution opportunities and develop plans with sales to unlock for focus areas
  • Provide a “customer lens “ in the development process for NPD (e.g. Pricing, Proposition, Business Case) and of category selling materials
  • Work collaboratively with product teams to activate new products launches identified on the sales planning calendar within the channel ensuring the right tools, content and materials are available and develop NPD launch plans in collaboration with Sales
  • Develop Trade Marketing Plans to drive Core Portfolio Growth – Merchandising, Promotion, Price
  • Manage seasonal program to identify the right portfolio, execute activation tools and measure results
  • Lead timely and efficient planning and execution of channel-specific national trade shows with a focus on maximizing ROI.
  • Leverage brand/key messaging guidelines/standards to lead development for channel specific trade communication (ads, events, etc.) strategy and execution and channel-specific events execution
  • Oversee design resources and vendors on projects
  • Assist with ad hoc marketing initiatives as needed
  • Reports to the Director of Trade Marketing, Modern Trade. No direct reports but must be able to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Marketing/Business Acumen.

  • Experience managing classical marketing and/or brand management best practices (around 4 P’s: Product, Placement, Pricing, and Promotion). Understand connection between consumer needs and industry trends. Can grow business using financial principles and customer-focused strategies.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years (minimum) experience in trade marketing, marketing or similar roles
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing in the NA Modern Trade (grocery or drug) and/or Foodservice channels.
  • Ability to build and lead a team of business professionals.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to calculate, analyze and interpret key bakery performance indicators and metrics, including financial ratios.
