Job Description

Our Cerner Technology Services team has an opening for a Senior Technical Project Manager. This person will be tasked with managing a large CRM conversion. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will provide day-to-day management of system or solution projects including risk management, stakeholder communications, and interdependencies between projects or programs. You will spend the bulk of your time managing cross project implementations and with multiple development groups. The role will help teams overcome project roadblocks for on-time delivery; obtaining requirements, evaluating and determining objectives, goals, and scope of multiple complex system or solution projects; networking with multiple organizations to drive initiatives, strategies, issue resolutions, and alignment. You will also create, monitor and provide on-going communication to appropriate internal and external stakeholders; reportrisk areas and partner with leadership on strategies to address concerns; manage interdependencies or dependencies between projects or programs; and develop detailed project plans and manage technical project process documentation and fact sheets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, CIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 4 years of project managementexperience


  • 4+ years of Agile methodology experience
  • CRM implementation/ conversion project managementexperience
  • Experience with business intelligence, data migration and data aggregation within a data lake
  • Experience creating and presenting project status reports to executive level
  • Experience with JIRA and Microsoft Project
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification


  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Willingness to travel within Kansas City to other Cerner locations as needed (0-20%)
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
