The WW global food data is one of the most important foundations of the WW digital product. It underpins the program experience that enables millions of members to eat healthier and lose weight. The Sr Manager WW food data will be responsible for the resourcing and quality control of food data globally, structuring and storing them so that members all over the world have access to them and data scientists can build great data products from them. The candidate will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, and nutritionists to design the most efficient way to resource food data globally as well as creatively come up and build automated processes that make sure the data can be leveraged for personalized food experiences and new programs globally.
Own vision, goals, strategy, roadmaps and impact against your team’s mission
Partner within leadership and cross-functional teams to align on business priorities and strategies; be able to translate these goals into technical solutions in partnership with engineering
Lead and inspire a team of experienced full-stack engineers, data engineers, QA testers, scrum master and data scientists to design and build a new global food data architecture that supports all front-end experiences and analytics.
Create and review user stories, automation scripts, product requirements and communicate them effectively
Integrate product analysis and local market insights into requirements, roadmaps, and strategies
Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit .
Coordinate with other product managers, designers, data science and nutritionists to ensure the cohesiveness to enable overall user experience
5+ years of product management experience
Fluent in English and ideally speaking one more European language
Experience in working with data engineering in designing and building tools to effectively resource, manage, and control global data.
Experience in building a global data resource architecture as a foundation for digital consumer facing products, preferably in the food or health space.
Experience and technical expertise in establishing and building automated global processes to resource and manage data, preferably food data, like label information and other food related info.
Passionate and focussed on automation through writing quick scripts that can easily perform a task rather than hours of manual updates.
Passion for food data, e,g. labels for grocery products and nutrients in meals and restaurant foods, food classification, differences in food culture and cooking.
Ability to communicate and socialize work with cross-functional teammates and business partners , presenting ideas and rationale, synthesizing impact, findings and next steps.
Experience managing and integrating third-party partner solutions.
Strong experience with data analysis, establishing metrics and proactive reporting on product metrics
Excellent sense of empathy for different internal users like data science, nutritionists and other product managers also coming from different cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade offs, and evaluate opportunities with internal and external partners
Experience acting as product owner in an Agile environment
Experience building foundational elements for products in the food or health space.
