Responsibilities and Competencies for the role include:

  • Expertise in the full stack including software components, database, platforms and infrastructure
  • Function as the go-to technical leader for the software applications supported, requiring depth and breadth of knowledge in technologies, applications, integration, interfaces and business domain.
  • Drive stability and performance of the systems in application portfolio to top quartile in the industry across both production and test environments.
  • Ensure operational excellence. Independently drive the triaging and service restoration of all high impact incidents in order to minimize the mean time to service restoration and impact to business.
  • Drive permanent root cause removal through sound problem management practices.
  • Partner with the CTO organization in designing and implementing intelligent incident routing, enhanced monitoring/alerting capabilities and automated service restoration processes.
  • Ensure availability, recoverability and currency (ARC) for all the applications and drive to a top quartile capability.
  • Accountable for keeping the IT application and infrastructure metadata repositories (PlanIT and CMDB) current in partnership with the vendor partner support team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IT regulatory and compliance requirements for all applications, drive remediation of all internal, regulatory and SoX audit findings.
  • Ensure transition from delivery to run (DTR) meets or exceeds all operational requirements.
  • Champion the migration of applications to open source platforms and enable containerization and deployment to public cloud.
  • Own and drive adoption of DevOps tools and best practices across the application portfolio.
  • Review and influence major technical design changes and participate in the review of change management activities.
  • Drive simplification across the stack, responsible for ensuring that all technical designs can be effectively operated without adding technical complexity.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation and artifacts are accurately prepared, maintained and cataloged.
  • Mentor and advice tech leaders, developers and sourcing partners on cross functional operational and production support issues.
  • Serve as key liaison between the architecture and technical delivery teams to influence the technical strategy for the organization, keeping in mind its cross-functional impacts, integration across the organization, and architecture rationalization.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills spanning multiple systems and integration points collaborating with senior technical leads across the organization.
  • Superior organization skills coupled with strong communication skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fast learner, demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly on new solutions and technologies.



  • Degree in Computer Science or related disciple with a minimum of  7-10 years of work experience in IT systems analysis, design and application development and tech leadership.
  • MUST have experience with Oracle Forms to be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on development experience with Oracle forms and Reports, PL/SQL programming.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on development experience with Java stack – JSP, JSF, Spring MVC,  JDBC, Web Services – SOAP & Restful, WebLogic and JBOSS
  • Experience in front end web technologies and frameworks like HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX
  • Strong understanding of XML and XSLT.
  • Strong understanding of OOPS concepts and ability to develop detailed application designs using proven industry patterns and best practices.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with Oracle and SQL Server relational database technologies.  Knowledge of open source database technologies is beneficial.
  • Experience with Linux /Unix Scripting with shell, Perl is an advantage.
  • Understanding of integration components such as MQ, Data power and WMB.
  • Experience with VB , Access 2013 is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, best practices and tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, Jira, SonarQube, etc.
  • Hands on experience with performance monitoring and profiling tools such as Dynatrace is required.
  • Knowledge of containerization and experience in cloud infrastructure environments like Openshift AWS, Azure is an advantage.
