Job Summary:

In the SI&T department we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

The Senior System Test Engineer will join a team that is supporting an active radar system Integration and Test site at Fort Cavazos. As part of the team, this engineer will work with local radar system leads to troubleshoot and solve system related problem, coordinating with Raytheon Technologies team and/or Fort Cavazos to identify, diagnose and correct related issues.

This role is based onsite. Travel is required domestically and internationally with little notice.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Support the operations of our radar systems, including, but not limited to:
  • Software installation, operational support, test and validation
  • System interface monitoring and analysis
  • System troubleshooting, repair and resolution of system problems or failures, including the use and evaluation of diagnostics and associated diagnostics results
  • System modifications and associated verification
  • System performance checks
  • System test including test requirements, test setup and execution, test script development, and data compilation and analysis
  • High possibility of being recalled to the site due to system failure (downing event) any time of the day or night.
  • Support a diverse team, internal/external customers and military personnel with technical system requirements.
  • Deploy with the system to domestic and/or international remote locations to support program requirements, for extended periods, sometimes with little notice.
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to environmental hazards, energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, unexploded ordnance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of relevant experience OR a relevant advanced degree and 3 years of experience.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification - must be current.
  • Experience with technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty equipment.
  • Experience with Radar X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
  • Experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.) that includes:
  • Backup and restore of file structures
  • Hardware setup and troubleshooting
  • Software patch application and upgrades
  • File directory management
  • Managing network routers, firewalls, and switch
  • Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
  • Active and transferable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
  • Experience of analog/digital hardware design.
  • Teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
  • Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)
