Job Summary:
As the Senior Systems Quality Assurance (QA) Lead, you will be responsible for establishing, advocating, and entrenching optimized and comprehensive quality assurance practices in business application and systems development projects across the organization. This includes ensuring quality assurance excellence spanning sustainment, software upgrades, and new solution delivery to improve business application systems and interoperability with other software and systems.
You will be mandated to form and establish an enterprise business application QA community of practice. At first, this will focus on a virtual QA community and over time might also include establishing a QA center of excellence via some dedicated QA personnel. This includes training and mentoring team members new to, and experienced with, enterprise systems quality assurance practices and guiding them successfully to cascade best system QA practices across the organization over time.
You will also engage with various levels of stakeholder to collaboratively advocate and influence the need for adopting and executing QA best practices. This individual brings a process driven mindset and specialized QA breadth, depth, and leadership in applying test techniques spanning unit, component, string, end-to-end business process, user acceptance and integration testing to enterprise business application systems.

Essential Responsibilities
Facilitates, leads, or participates in workshops and discussions to establish and evolve business process and software testing practices including: engaging with business or Information Systems (IS) team members to collaboratively develop pragmatic and effective test practices leveraging modern test and defect management tools; kicking off and advising QA work-streams in best practices, how to create a test plan, test coverage, traceability matrix, etc.; taking on the team lead role for the QA work-stream of a project including business process transformative and other large process driven initiatives.
Supervises testers or other analysts involved in quality assurance of business processes, applications, and system development. Duties will vary by assignment and may include: elicit test requirements, create/maintain test plan including test coverage mapping with business requirements, advise on test approach and test team composition, test defect triage, assess readiness to pass work stage gates to subsequent stages, mentor team members with adopting test practices and tools, identify test defect trends or blockers to prioritize or determine work-around options to the test plan, strategize and plan test automation, performance testing and other relevant testing.
Collaboratively establishes, leads, and nurtures a QA community of practice across IS and with business process / systems-oriented business analysts in the business units, and inspires others to advance the collective QA capabilities across the organization.
Advances QA best practices and technical expertise in appropriate team members to increase the organization’s QA capability and success in driving new work towards zero defects and leverages test metrics in identifying patterns and opportunities for further improvement, enriching test KPI measures, and facilitating ongoing feedback and improvement mechanisms.
Champions QA practice development with team members, leadership, and stakeholders, and influences and motivates others to adopt process driven QA test practices and consistently execute them successfully.
Maintains knowledge of QA best practices and how to inject or improve organizational QA practices where appropriate. Maintains expert level QA expertise spanning a broad range of software applications and business units. May lead test teams during projects.
Mentors others with QA expertise and successful testing approaches as required.
Promotes QA as an aspect of career development in establishing and growing a talented QA community of practice with core QA and extended part-time tester capabilities.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in enterprise business application / systems project or enhancement delivery ideally in a business process / enterprise applications analyst or quality assurance analyst role, or both
5+ years experience participating in mid-sized to large enterprise application / ERP implementation projects in a QA team lead or QA advisor role spanning web, mobile and desktop interfaces
5+ years experience leading and facilitating test approach planning, test conditions / requirements gathering, test management and defect management tool training or mentorship to other team members
Experience in a business systems analyst capacity with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, PeopleSoft)
Experience establishing and evolving QA centers of excellence / communities of practice
Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Jira, or similar), associated practices, measures, and monitoring
Experience with test automation tools e.g., Ranorex, Selenium, or Robot Framework (or similar)
Experience with software load and performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner)
Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or equivalent
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills for collaborating with various lines of business
Ability to facilitate and lead a virtual QA community of practice including in-direct reports and people from various organizational departments
Ability to drive QA initiatives across cross-functional teams to create/improve test processes, test execution, and project delivery through QA excellence; passion for quality assurance and sharing knowledge in QA best practices
Thorough understanding of test management processes including best practices, establishing, and monitoring KPIs, complying with common business controls and segregation of duty test requirements, test automation, and modern test tools
Expert knowledge of the test considerations and QA planning for enterprise information systems, with the ability to assist in the direction of multiple complex projects to their successful conclusion
Knowledge of business systems analysis, quality assurance, change management, and basic project management, with the ability to identify/define gaps, risks, and requirements
Business process savvy; keen to understand new areas of the business
Solid skills in Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
