Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide senior engineering subject matter expertise and oversight in the acquisition, requirements, design, analysis, and development of systems for air and marine, law enforcement and surveillance operations
Develop operational capability models and analysis in support of system requirements development (experience with geospatial platforms, Matlab)
Assist with aircraft testing, to include test planning, coordination, execution, data analysis and reporting
Provide strategic guidance to AMO leadership and Program Managers on topic areas covering platform suitability, sensor development and integration, tactical communications, satellite data-links, aircraft modifications, modeling and simulation, and terrestrial WAN data integration with DHS/CBP/AMO operations centers and mobile field Agents
Collaborate with DHS enterprise services, Federal, DoD, and industry partners to integrate new sensor/aircraft data-products while maintaining system compatibility and interoperability
Support AMO Program Managers in the coordination of program milestones, pursuant to technology insertion, testing and fielding of both new aircraft and/or modified aircraft
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the development of CONOPS, ORD, statements of work, equipment specifications and technical data packages
Coordinate and lead author for technical documentation to include cyber threat assessments, engineering specifications, reports, aircraft maintenance and user manuals
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Systems Management and 10 years relevant experience or bachelor’s degree and 14 years relevant experience
At least 4 years DoD/DHS program experience in engineering and logistics
DAWIA certifications (preferred): Level II in Engineering and Test & Evaluation; Level I in Life Cycle Logistics
Deep knowledge and strong understanding of DoD and DHS aircraft and associated mission systems, avionics, data-buses, data-links, sensors and Situational Awareness User Interfaces (in particular those used by CBP – Minotaur, BigPipe, ATAK, eGIS)
