Senior System Engineers are experts in infrastructure, cloud, and systems engineering with a strong understanding of infrastructure automation, private/public cloud hosting, network and storage engineering. All team members must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding/scripting, good communication skills, and most of all enthusiasm for tackling the complex problems. Sr. Systems Engineers will lead other team members through technical mentoring and training.


  • Work closely with othertechnology team members and vendors to design and recommend the technical architecture of application software packages and infrastructure.
  • Day to day system management of technical solutions and back end interfaces.
  • Ability to write, optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries and procedures.
  • Experience with retail hardware, peripherals and their installation/staging
  • Strong Operating System troubleshooting knowledge
  • Understanding of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, TCP/IP, etc.
  • Understanding of Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Satellite.
  • Understanding of virtualization technology including VMWare VSphere and ESXI.
  • Monitor servers and systems performance and capacity
  • Able to troubleshoot any operating systems and utility software problems by using vendor documentations, on-line resources and support organizations etc.
  • Work withsecurity engineers to translate the required actions and task for operating systems security, systems administration and prepare required information for systems audits
  • Manage deployment of System Software patches, Application Releases and Break Fixes
  • Monitor support tickets to ensure timely response to field and corporate users
  • Exhibit above average reasoning ability by clearly defining problems, analyzing data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Able to be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks when needed


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to mentor team mates.
  • Able to demonstrate mastery of Bash and Kornscripting.
  • Able to install and set up a Linux system.
  • Strong operating system and utility software troubleshooting; able to use vendor documentations, on-line resources and support organizations etc.
  • Base understanding of database structure and use (access, SQL, Oracle).
  • Ability to write, optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries and procedures.
  • Have understanding of POS system architecture and makeup.
  • Must have 2 – 5years of work experience in a Linux environment.
  • Work experience in virtualization and cluster administration.
  • Experience with hardware, peripherals and their staging.
  • Experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, TCP/IP, etc.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or 2 - 4years of full time experiencesupporting applications in an information systems environment.
