The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, architecture, and support of the Windows collaboration environment. The role researches, designs, and implements collaboration technologies. Supports cloud infrastructure. This role will own the support and administration of Microsoft Office 365 services and related Cloud technology solutions, including delivering messaging and collaboration projects. As a senior member of the team, the role will be responsible for communications to IT management as well as our business partners. The Senior Systems Engineer will be expected to mentor other team members.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownership of Office 365 design and administration and support in a multi-site enterprise environment
  • Integrating enterprise environments to cloud services such as Azure, Oracle Cloud, or AWS
  • Create, modify and keep documentation with an emphasis on detail
  • Assist in periodic security tests and audits
  • Provide tier 3 support as SME for Exchange/Outlook, O365
  • Collaboration on desktop tools such as Ivanti
  • Intermediate to advance scripting to support cloud collaboration applications and services
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Job Skills:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 in an enterprise environment, supporting 100-200 servers
  • Knowledge of change control processes and documentation
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Certificate Authority administration, management of certs in an enterprise environment
  • Deliver complex technical projects within a tight schedule. Must be able to prioritize and organize workload with limited supervision. Must be able to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent communication skills that include listening, verbal and written skills. Communication skills must include the ability to communicate with clients and develop appropriate documentation
  • Experience should include monitoring, installation, configuration, tuning and management
  • Background in messaging and voice technologies – O365, Exchange, Teams
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with 3rd party contractors and consultants
  • Strong system administration at the command-line level
  • Strong scripting skillsetUnderstanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Leverage Ivanti tools for software distribution and patch management. Package creation and custom reporting is a plus
  • Planning, designing, and testing DR/Business Continuity scenarios
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’sdegree in MIS, IT, or computer information systems or equivalent workexperiencein a related field

Preferred Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience administrating a windows server environment, including Windows Server 2012 and 2016, Exchange/Exchange Online, File/Print Services, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, SharePoint, and related technologies
  • 1-2 years’ experience using PowerShell. Other scripting skills are helpful for automating process and reporting
  • Hands-On Experience with cloud migrations including Office 365
  • 3 years’ experience with Office 365 administration and support – including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Groups, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Experience with IaaS and PaaS environments
