Job Responsibilities

Viasat has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Architect to join our team and help us continue to build on our successful 30-year legacy in end-to-end space, tactical, and enterprise network communications systems for our nation’s space, air, and terrestrial platforms.

This position provides a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge technologies and work closely with our customers to architect solutions that support our nation's most critical defense programs.

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will report directly to the SCS Business Area Director while working closely and collaboratively with other Viasat stakeholders to identify, pursue, capture, and execute high priority opportunities that support our strategic growth goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing business growth strategies and assisting senior leadership in setting strategic direction, identifying required new technical capabilities, recommending investment decisions, providing feedback on technical solutions, industry trends and customer needs, and fostering partnerships with other companies to support successful proposal bids.

Requirements
*8+ years of relevant experience in a similar engineering role *Good understanding of RF communication systems and signal processes*Strong technical leadership *Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including presentation skills) with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization *Understanding of art and science of systems-level architecting*Bachelor’s degree in engineering *U.S. Government Position. U.S. Citizenship Required. *Active DoD TS SCI clearance (or have held an active TS SCI clearance in the past 2 years) *Up to 25% domestic travel

*Understanding of satellite communication systems*Strong leadership skills demonstrated by clearly sharing a vision of success with others; delegating responsibility while being accountable for the performance of the team; mentoring and influencing others to grow personally and professionally*Active DoD TS SCI clearance
