As a System Administrator you will maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.  This role will be deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on AWS. Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures, which are cost effective and meet user requirements.
RTGThe Restorative Therapies Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.
A Day in the Life
•Install and configure software and hardware•Manage network servers and technology tools•Set up and maintain accounts •Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements•Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls•Upgrade systems with new releases and models•Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies•Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies•Provide functional knowledge and maintain insight to current industry best practices and how they can be applied to Medtronic.•Provide support/consultation to RTG support organizations and functional teams.•Run day-to-day operations field issues management •Responsible for service delivery in the Production environment •Application service performance analysis, and generating data for traffic forecasting •Monitor application services (including on-callresponsibilities) and ensure alignment with SLA requirements•Other duties may be assigned

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• 3-5 years of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering experience with BS Degree• Experience with databases, networks (subnetting/routing/dns), authentication (LDAP/RADIUS/Other), application coding (php/java/javascript) and patch management• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery• Ability to work collaboratively• Analytical problem-solving skills• Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills• Prioritization skills• Meeting facilitation skills
Nice to Have
• AWS (Amazon Web Service) experience highly preferred • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms• Exposure to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) software like Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm and McAfee Enterprise Security Manager
