The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical systems. The Senior Systems Administrator serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. The Senior Systems Administrator recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. The Senior Systems Administrator investigates and analyzes the feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. The Senior Systems Administrator identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.


  • Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability
  • Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Hyper-V servers and guests
  • Performs troubleshooting and leads problem-solving efforts
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical host computer resources
  • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse
  • Provide Level 3 and higher technical support to escalated issues
  • Monitor the performance of servers, software, and hardware
  • Work with the product architects to verify and supportinfrastructure growth for product direction
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for BrandMuscle to take advantage of new technology


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in system administration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2012, Active Directory 2012, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Office 365, Remote Desktops Servers, and other Windows Server roles and technologies commonly used
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks
  • Knowledge of system security techniques
  • Strong web server skill set (Apache and IIS)
  • Database administration skills preferred
  • Azure and AWS experiencepreferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Team oriented and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
