Job Summary: Apply systems engineering processes and skills to conduct model base system engineering (MBSE), system simulation and analysis in the C4ISR domain. Responsible for architecture, modeling, simulation, analyses and trade studies, algorithmic optimization, traceability and system level test. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in the selection of system concepts
  • Architect, develop and manage the system simulation platform
  • Support hardware and software design teams to ensure compliance with system design
  • Support system level test implementation

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following modeling tools: Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA) and/or IBM Rational Rhapsody
  • Understanding of communication and networking protocols
  • Programming skills (MATLAB, C/C++, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more event-driven simulation and analytical tools such as OPNET, QualNet, AGI STK, EMANE or NS-3
  • Familiarity with OMS, FACE or other DOD open system standards, desirable
  • Experience with SysML, UML languages highly preferred
  • Experience with DoDAF or UAF desired
  • INCOSE Certification (CSEP) or similar, desirable

Minimum Job Requirements and skills:

Four-year college degree in engineering and technical disciplines with a focus on architecture and communications theory/systems, plus 8 years of related experience, or a relevant master's degree, plus 6 years of related experience. Proficiency in validating architectural models, Key Performance Parameters (KPP) and Technical Performance Metrics (TPM).

Experience in developing system level performance simulations, tailored to communications and networking. Familiarity with C4ISR domain, Mission and Concept of Operations analysis and system concept, desirable.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to apply core engineering concepts to solve complex, unfamiliar, and novel problems.

Effective written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints. Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
