This position uses advanced SQL and other programming techniques to develop reports and projects from databases. This person assists Care Management Directors and other Health System customers in developing relevant business and clinical reports using their comprehensive knowledge of existing database content. The Senior Systems Analyst contributes to developing reporting standards for content, format, and development of report specific assumptions. This position provides the primary support to programmer/Analysts for coding and database questions. This position provides team leadership on projects and must be skilled in project management. It must also significantly contribute to incorporating new operating systems and reporting tools into the daily workflow. Other duties include performing current and future state analysis as it relates to Data Management and providing analytical and technical support to existing and new projects. This person assists in the training and competency of new and existing co-worker. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Routinely contributes to achievement of strategic initiatives of the Mercy Health and to the specific goals of Mercy Care Management and Care Management Informatics.
Utilizes and demonstrates expertise with SQL Writing software, Business Intelligence tools, Statistical tools, and tools such as Microsoft Office.
Complements DBAs in the implementation of new systems, applications and interfaces.
Incorporates knowledge of database content, methods and models to develop requested reports and projects.
Manages projects according to scope and timelines and involves appropriate internal & external parties.
Provides effective education, training, and user assistance to support the work of Programmer/Analysts in using new report development and query techniques.
Develops and maintains productive working relationships with Care Management, other Mercy Health departments and MTS.
Ability to create business requirements and design specifications for new Care Management projects as well as continued analysis over existing projects.
Possess and utilizes essential analytical and problem solving skills in order to recognize and investigate project or report logic and/or technical problems.
Maintains technical skills for effective use of standard tool set to meet business/reporting requirements.
Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance.
Meets Health System attendance standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
