Senior Systems Administrator

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as technical lead for hosted related services such as IaaS, SaaS, BaaS, and DRaaS
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, server security, and disaster recovery
  • Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure
  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
  • Conduct research on server hardware and network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts for remote offices
  • Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation
  • Serve as cornerstone for escalating server and network issues; provide timely response to customer escalations
  • Act as project participant in the design and review of new server and network systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed

Educational/Certification and Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 8 -10 years equivalent work experience
  • Certifications in Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, and MCSE), Brocade (BCNE, BCNP), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) are preferred, but not required

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Advanced Knowledge of server hardware, including Dell PowerEdge, HP Proliant, and IBM server X-Series servers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft networking components, such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Group Policies, Roaming Profiles, NTFS Permissions, & Login Scripts
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi 5.5 and newer
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology
  • Abilities at server virtualization, load balancing, clustering, and caching procedures and processes
  • Experience with SAN administration, NetApp/EqualLogic environment
  • Experience and working knowledge of Private and Public Cloud hosting
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2
  • Experience with O365/Hosted Exchange deployment
  • Experience with VOIP telephony systems
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management suite and device support
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking in a WAN/LAN environment
  • Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, & questioning

Work Conditions:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
  • Occasional travel to other company owned sites and/or for education/training
  • Flexibility to provide off hours and weekend support as necessary
