BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) as part of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems Business Area. C4ISR Systems provides actionable intelligence for our warfighters and decision makers through innovative technical solutions from the seas, to the skies, to the stars. The SQM will have oversight of several sites across the U.S. in providing direction and guidance to programs relative to procurement activities and supplier performance. The SQM can be managed from other BAE Systems ES locations.
The SQM will support new development and legacy programs to ensure suppliers are poised for success to meet requirements levied upon them. The SQM will be responsible for leading a geographically dispersed team of Quality professionals that work in a collaborative environment with programs as members of Integrated Product Teams (IPT). In addition, this role will have some hands on Supplier Quality activity. The leader will be responsible for developing a collaborative environment with program quality engineers, supply chain management and other key functions to foster a zero defect environment inclusive APQP/PPAP (AS9145) and leansix sigma tools.
The SQM will maintain and present Supplier Performance metrics along with recommended actions at the Corrective Action Review Board as well as lead the Supplier Review Board. The engaged leader will provide guidance to the Supplier Quality staff, in the investigation, evaluation and resolution of supplier issues using the Science of Quality to drive a zero defects mindset. The SQM supports Receiving Inspection and Source inspection by reviewing non-conformances and documenting inspection criteria. The SQM will evaluate and assess the impact of nonconforming product, suppliers' corrective actions and performance improvement plans, including timely communication with program teams on performance status.
