As part of a small, hardworking, passionate, diverse, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, development, testing, and qualification of pressurized and non-pressurized primary structures for New Glenn’s second stage. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the structural analysis work of the New Glenn program and be subject matter expert for the discipline. Tasks will include design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures. You will create 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, installations, and interface control documents. You will create test plans, specifications, and other documentation for the development of flight hardware. You will provide technical guidance for integration, rovide manufacturing and production support. You will support configuration development and trade studies, work with cross-functional teams that are responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to produce world class aerospace hardware.
You will also perform classic hand calculations and FEM Simulations of structural hardware including pressurized and non-pressurized structures, and use structural analysis methods to support test and failure investigations. Additional responsibilities include communicating analysis results to the team, peer review of analysis reports and overseeing junior engineers and contractors. You will be expected to drive or own process development of major portions of the discipline.
