Responsibilities:

  • Provides electrical systems design and support for projects company-wide. This includes development of project concepts, review of proposed projects, design of approved systems, and troubleshooting of existing systems. Assures that the design of the project follows standard engineering practices and meets established objectives and all applicable federal, state and local codes. Develops cost estimates and appropriation requests for assigned projects.
  • Plans and executes engineering assignments of complex nature involving electrical systems. Projects may be independent entities, or they may be part of larger projects.
  • Prepares and monitors designs so they deliver the expected results and achieve all financial objectives.
  • Researches and develops ideas and concepts that provide new and innovative process and equipment alternatives for company operations.
  • Assures that designs and equipment meet or exceed regulatory and company requirements for quality, safety, and sanitation.
  • Develops and implements corporate policies and standards in the areas of electrical engineering.

Requirements:

  • Professional Engineering license as an electrical engineer or ability to attain license within one year.
  • Minimum five years of pertinent experience in technical field.
  • A strong pattern of initiative, innovation and creativity.
  • Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a diverse team environment.

Preferred:

  • Solid understanding and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Must be able to apply the Code to engineering design.
  • Knowledge and experience with NFPA 70E and arc flash hazard analysis.
