How You'll Contribute to the Team

The Senior Staff Accountant maintains, prepares and reviews designated accounting functions and financial information within the corporate accounting department, including reporting, internal control procedures and systematic posting, reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger activity.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the training and support of installation employees to facilitate proper accounting process and controls
  • Create and maintain appropriate communication levels with lender, banks and installation personnel in order to effectively receive information that is directly related to the responsibilities of this position i.e., waterfall entry corrections and escrow fund transactions
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software packages to ensure that the company is fully utilizing its investment
  • Utilize spreadsheet experience in the development and maintenance of various financialreports including the reporting package reports, audit work papers and various other reporting methods
  • Provide support and guidance to the staff accountants as questions and projects are assigned
  • Support and foster team environment with Installation Accounting Managers and staff, and assist Controller and Assistant Controller on special projects to meet all department goals
  • Manage receipt of all installation monthly reports with regard to deliverable due dates, change in process and review report data integrity for issuance in the monthly financial package
  • Perform all required reviews of financial information that will be provided to management and utilized for analysis and decision making
  • Reconcile all restricted cash accounts monthly, constructionloan draw review/tie out
  • Prepare and post all journal entries for ownership and corporate entities for receipt of funds and distribution of funds
  • Distribute fees per flow of funds, record assets, accruals, recurring entries etc., perform YARDI month close function on the 1st of each month, manage inter-company schedule maintenance for corporate entities, asset depreciation and year-end audit binder review to assist in issuance of annual financial statements
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specific Requirements Include:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5 or more years relevant accounting experience
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, YARDI, Timberline and asset software
  • Ability to communicate effectively and objectively, ability to interact with peers and management and possess independent time management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
