How you’ll contribute

The Senior SQL Data Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data within our data warehouse, as well as developing and optimizing SQL code to support data quality initiatives. The position will also serve as a representative and advocate for the data contained within the data warehouse when questions or data issues arise. This role supports nearly all functions within the organization by ensuring the flow of data to allow stakeholders to make informed decisions.

• Perform data profiling and validation tasks to identify data quality issues and anomalies within commercial data in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry within the Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse and Azure
• Develop and execute data validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of commercial data in Azure
• Identify and resolve data quality issues using SQL and other data profiling tools in both Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse and Azure environments
• Design and implement data quality metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data quality initiatives in Azure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality requirements are met throughout the data lifecycle
• Write and optimize SQL code to support data quality initiatives and improve overall performance of the data warehouse and Azure.
• Develop and maintain data quality documentation and processes, including data quality standards, policies, and procedures in Azure while influencing decisions and exhibiting thought leadership
• Provide training and support to other teams on data quality best practices and tools in Azure
• Work effectively to solve complex issues and problems - leverage all resources to resolution, including guiding temps and contractors for assistance

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 9+ years of experience in data quality analysis, data profiling, and SQL development in a Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse and/or Azure environment within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry with a H.S. Diploma or GED or
• 7+ years of experience in data quality analysis, data profiling, and SQL development in a Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse and/or Azure environment within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry with an Associates Degree or
• 5+ years of experience in data quality analysis, data profiling, and SQL development in a Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse and/or Azure environment within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry with a Bachelor's Degree
• Extensive experience in Azure, including data storage, analytics, and integration services within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data profiling tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools, SSIS, or similar tools
• Familiarity with data quality standards, best practices, and data governance principles in Azure within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration in Azure within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in information technology, engineering or an applicable discipline. Will consider commensurate experience and/or combination of education and experience.
