Summary

The Sr. Specialist – Performance Improvement position is responsible for development and implementation of Sharp Grossmont's Performance Improvement standards, including responsibilities relating to leading team in the utilization of Change Acceleration Process and PI tools and providing feedback to managers, directors and executives. The Sr. Specialist Performance Improvement leads performance improvement by working collaboratively with customers, colleagues and the department leaders to drive improved operational results.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in hospital and/or medical office environment with focus on analysis, performance improvement, quality assurance, or computer programming.
  • Previous operational acute care experience
  • Current knowledge of JC, state, and federal regulatory agency requirements, standards and regulations, particularly those related to PI.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation programs
  • Advanced skills in analysis, problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Ability to effectively work with Sharp executives, management, staff, physicians, and others to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to achieve results for the organization with and through people; to practice good time management, and to demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate data analysis for clinical decision making, research, and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environment; IS principles and practices; the impact of clinical and financial data on the legal, ethical, managerial, and organizational principles and standards for acute general hospitals and integrated health systems.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Previous performance improvement experience
  • Lean Six Sigma training
