Job Description:

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) has an opening for a Senior Spacecraft Instrument Systems Engineer to support a satellite instrument development project, as part of the Electrical Systems Engineering Support (ESES III) contract on-site at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.

The ESES III contract includes the provision of electrical/electronic engineering support services and related work to the Engineering and Technology Directorate. The work includes the study, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification and operations of spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions.

In this role, the candidate will provide systems engineeringsupport, ensuring the development, flow down, verification, and validation of requirements. The candidate may be involved in multiple areas of the spacecraft and instrument development life-cycle including integration, test, and launchsupport. Travel to vendor sites will berequired.Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Systems Engineering and 10+ years of professional experience in spacecraft or instrument systems engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in various phases of a spacecraft lifecycle development
  • Excellent communications skills, including experiencesupporting NASA phase gate reviews
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary team environment
  • US Citizenship Required

Desired Qualifications:

  • DOORS Advance User
  • Prior NASA experience
  • Past experience as in the spacecraft integration and test environment
