Job Description

  • Lead cross functional efforts to develop and implement sourcing strategies including cost reduction initiatives, new product development, supply base optimization and rationalization, quality improvements, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide leadership for cross functional teams to develop best in class strategic sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives.               
  • Lead the development and implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and sourcing analyses.            
  • Lead, create, negotiate, monitor and enforce a contract strategy for suppliers.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses.  Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organization.                                 
  • Provide leadership for new product launches; lead supplier selection, requests for quotes and insurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch.
  • Assure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets. 
  • Provide leadership for all strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities; obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • 8+ years’ experience in planning, purchasing, or supply management with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development or equivalent relevant work experience in manufacturing and/or project management.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing management, manufacturing engineering, buying, production planning or product development experience. Prefer FDA-regulated/aerospace/automotive industries experience.
  • Demonstrated management, project management or other leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated, customer service, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategy and market drivers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contractual negotiations.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate difficult concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite of products, especially Excel and MS Project.
