The Marketing division is an outward focused B2B marketing function that identifies market opportunity and generates leads for sales through short and long term campaigns that drive measurable revenue for CAS.  Marketing works collaboratively with Sales, Product Development, and Product Management to ensure solutions solve market problems. This function aligns solutions to user needs and identifies and develops messaging that targets buyer throughout the buying process.  Through a best practices modernagile approach, the strategic leadership team plans and evaluates opportunities that drive multi-channelcampaigns via teams in a matrixed organization of two basic parts: Segments (Prospect, Customer and Key Accounts) and Roles (Opportunities, Content, Field Marketing, Operations and Solutions Marketing).   The pod teams use sprints (short, finite periods of intensive work) to complete projects cooperatively, on budget and on time.

Position Summary

As a (Sr.) Solutions Marketing Strategist at CAS, you will be responsible for the external positioning of CAS products, services and use cases within the campaign teams.  You must be able to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with: Sales, Product Development, and Customer Support. This requires an extremely talented and flexible individual with strong organizational teaming capabilities, presentation skills and adept business knowledge. Additionally, you will assist in crafting the positioning and supporting content for our solutions. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits are crucial. You will be the expert in our buyers and transfer that knowledge to the Sales team and across the organization.

A Solutions Marketing Strategist with an assigned focus on sales and market communications will be responsible for creating sales materials that result in new sales. You will be accountable for working directly with Sales, Sales Enablement, Marketing and Product Development to understand product / service offerings, align sales materials with strategic positioning and campaign planning, and understand customer and salesperson needs for effective materials design. Accordingly, you must be able to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with each of these organizational teams. You will need to work with – and possibly manage – vendor relationships should they be used to complete select work. You will also have responsibility for working with Sales Enablement to define role in communicating and training Sales representatives in the use of new materials. Finally, you will be expected to fulfill additional Solutions roles as needed (potentially backing up other members), and contribute as a strategic member of the team.

 Position Accountabilities:

  • Utilize market research, customer and prospect feedback, web analytics data, and industry trends to position CAS solutions within multiple campaign frameworks
  • Work closely with Product Managers, IT developers, UX designers, and cross-functional business teams to successfully drive, execute and deliver on initiatives
  • Communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders across marketing to share priorities, roadmap, and key learnings
  • Define success criteria & metrics of new products & perform post-implementation analysis and ongoing optimization
  • Be a subject matter expert of assigned product lines
  • Assist in the development of external messaging for current and prospective customers, integrating knowledge of industry and market needs
  • Assist in marketing programs that drive demand for CAS Solutions for both existing customers and new prospects

A Solutions Marketing Strategist with an assigned focus on sales and market communications may have unique responsibilities as well:

  • Create materials to support sales (new, cross-sell, up-sell) across CAS’ portfolio.
  • Work with field representatives to understand materials priorities and complete needed assets.
  • Work with Marketing and Product Development to gain understanding of Product/Service being offered, key user benefits, buying process, strategic positioning, and campaign plans – in order to incorporate critical details into sales materials and materials process.
  • Working with Sales Enablement, identify appropriate media for sales materials. Execute full range of approved plans, working with internal and external parties as needed (e.g. vendors for work, customers for validation, etc).
  • Communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders across marketing to share priorities, roadmap, and key learnings
  • Is a subject matter expert of assigned product lines. Knowledgeable about competitive positioning.

Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge

  • Must have a BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience in areas of related disciplines.
  • Solutions Marketing Strategist - Minimum 5+ years’ experience of product marketing experience with at least one year of experience supporting and enabling Sales.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to understand technology trends, customer needs, and competitive activities, and bring actionable insights to partner with Technology to develop a compelling future.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills to drive multi-faceted product management and marketing outcomes.
  • Proven ability to move others across organizational boundaries to a desired business outcome.
  • Superb verbal, written and interpersonal communications with proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and third parties
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross functional teams and third parties preferably in an agile environment.
  • Strong team player is required to work within a small team and contribute to the positive team spirit. Effective interpersonal skills.  Able to communicate effectively across all levels of management in a highly matrixed and/or agile environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
