As the Senior Software Test Engineer – Automation Framework for Mediware you will be responsible for defining, designing, and continuously improving the software automation framework utilized by Agile DevOps teams across Mediware. To accomplish this, the Senior Automation Framework engineer will architect, design and build out state-of-the-art, scalable automation frameworks for multi-tenant SaaS applications as well as legacy desktop on-prem applications. The Senior Automation Framework engineer works with teams engaged in converting manual test cases into automated scripts that can be used as templates for the DevOps teams in their effort to establish and grow their automation coverage. The Senior Automation Framework engineer ensures the automation framework architecture fits into the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery approach of the respective DevOps team. The Senior Automation Framework engineer ensures the framework conforms to coverage, stability, and availability metrics and monitors its usage during bi-weekly release activities.

Job Description:

Responsible for the team’s successful implementation of the following facets of Quality Engineering:

  • Lead team in test automation strategy and planning

  • Ensure team uses standard automation framework

  • Collaboratively improve automation methodology, approach, and framework

  • Gather metrics, measure and manage automation

  • Provide leadership to team in regard to assignments

  • Mentor other QA Engineers on the tools and techniques used by the team

  • Participate in all Scrum activities, perform code reviews, contribute to a high performing, growing team

  • Work with the QA Practice to continually refine and improve our Quality Assurance process and engineering abilitities



Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate experience

  • Preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, or other STEM related majors.


Professional Skill Requirements and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Quality Engineering or testing environment or demonstration of equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with software development (packaged or custom development)

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience leading Quality Assurance related strategy, planning and execution activities, sizing, test data definition, data setup, test execution, automation testing, and performance testing.

  • Advanced knowledge of the fundamental concepts of data communications and data processing hardware and software.

  • At least 4 years hands on experience and expert knowledge in a testing tool such as MS, HP (e.g. Quality Center. QTP), SAP TAO, IBM Rational Functional Tester, Open source (SoapUI, Selenium etc…)

  • Expert knowledge/expertise and advanced hands on experience in two or more of the following: Angular, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, .NET C#, JAVA, SQL, C/C++, etc…

  • Proven ability to implement Quality Assurance standards and best practices into the test strategy, planning, and execution processes

  • Proven ability to conduct quality assurance assessments in line with a documented methodology

  • Other:

    • Ability to provide consultation or consultative Quality Assurance information to customers, Account Management, Support, Leadership, or others as required
