As a Senior Software Engineer on the Buying Experience team, you’ll work closely with product management to build a beautifully simple and secure buying experience for our customers across the Zendesk family of products. You’ll work on interesting challenges in all aspects of the buying experience; subscription management, purchasing, and trial conversion. You’ll provide support to internal operations teams to ensure our systems are compliant and secure for our customers.
You’ll help the team breakaway from an existing Ruby on Rails monolithic codebase by migrating features and building new microservices on Kubernetes and AWS. You’ll get the opportunity to demonstrate and promote best practices around code development, design, test, review, documentation and other engineering disciplines.

What you need to succeed
We’ve found that deep experience building, integrating, and designing web applications, APIs, and services are the most common predictors for a successful Senior Software Engineer at Zendesk. You have experience working in an agile development environment with a desire for, and a strong grasp of, testing methodologies. You are comfortable with querying and developing against relational databases, such as MySQL or Aurora. You understand session management, object relational mapping, and object caching. Experience with JavaScript MVC frameworks (React, EmberJS), continuous integration and continuous deployment systems/tools (Travis, Jenkins, SonarQube, Spinnaker), and familiarity with billing platforms (Zuora, Braintree, PayPal) are bonuses that will help you on your path to success at Zendesk.
