The Real Time System Software group produces applications which automate and track engine testing procedures. Collaborating with a wide array of test hardware, the core mission is to improve automation, data collection, and analytical capabilities of Pratt & Whitney.

We are seeking a creative and driven software engineer to construct solutions for the development and production testing of aerospace systems. In this role, you will work alongside test engineers to develop programs which will interface between the engine, test stand hardware, and the data acquisition systems. Ideally, you will be inventive, enjoy playing with computers, is a problem solver, and passionate about resolving new systems in a high stress environment. Partnership and social skills are important to the production and support of the software product. You should be flexible in support of a dynamic environment where requirements can change as field/customer support is required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience
  • US Citizen, due to Government Contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Validated programming skills with C/C++, GUI development with GTK or QT
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems, or an understanding of their concepts
  • System design and integration skills
  • Strong, well-adapted approach to software engineering life cycle
  • Working knowledge of real-time programming and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Linux experience
  • Hardware device driver development and embedded systems interfacing
  • Written and oral communication skills
