As a Senior Software Engineer at Wegmans you will define, develop, test, analyze and maintain software applications to support our ever changing business. You will mentor and project manage other programmers within the group to generate creative ideas that will continue taking our applications to the next level.

What will I do?

  • Perform lead analyst role to complete high-level and technical systems design for new and enhanced systems
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced programmers on any business impact for supported systems
  • Break complex business problems and projects down into simpler tasks, may delegate tasks and set goals for other programmers within the team
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications that will be used by other developers
  • Lead the development and maintenance of software applications on a software development life cycle
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, value and standards

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Required Experience:

  • 5 or more years of related work experience
  • Experience in all phases of the SDLC
  • Experience with SharePoint for documentation
  • Experience using source control to branch and version code
  • Hands on experience with relational databases

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Object Oriented programming skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Possess subject matter expertise in System Design
  • Proficient with maintenance bug tracking tools (TFS)
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and learn new situations
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems at the system and application code level
  • Proficient .Net programming skills
