LinQuest is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.This position will be supporting the Air Force Research Lab Information Handling (AFRL/RIEB) mission and the Full Spectrum Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Innovation & Integration (F3I-2) program in defining and deploying new agile business processes and tailoring supporting software applications. Provides enhancements and sustainment to baselined systems and subsystem capabilities to enable system baseline improvements through upgrades of individual software modules with a focus on transition to high performance, scalable and modular cloud-based services. Under general direction, conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software.
Provides requirement decomposition/definition and engineering expertise to assure program requirements are developed and sustained
Designs, develops, documents and delivers new and emerging technologies that enhance the integration of data handling systems for NSDC baseline systems and sub-systems using agile software development best practices.
Develops software and hardware prototypes to meet functional requirements and concepts, including prototype design, development, implementation, test, and demonstration.
Provides sustainment and minor enhancement activities related to advanced algorithms in the areas of: big data analytics, machine learning, artificial general intelligence, autonomous processes, and neural networks.
Provides corrective actions to software programs, performance improvement, and adaptive maintenance within the bounds of existing system specifications
Provides technical inputs as well as develops and maintains schedules, plans, checklists, documentation and procedures
Schedules, organizes, and conducts technical documents risk reduction activity
Organizes, schedules, and participates in software access, assurance and software Validation and Verification (V&V) activities
Provides technical engineering inputs to the Government related to securing Interim Authority to Test and full Authority to Operate across the full spectrum of cloud operations (on-prem, hybrid, cloud, NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS)
Provides "Cloud" based technology training, software development assistance to the government to maintain and deploy 12-factor cloud native applications
Experience designing, developing and deploying cloud-based applications
Experience deploying software on both Linux and Windows operating systems
Software development experience in Python, C#, Java, Bash, C++ and/or SQL
Experience using Jira/Confluence or similar tools
Strong analytical problem solving skills
Agile software development methodology experience with Scrum and/or Scale Agile Framework for Lean Enterprises (SAFe)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position
Experience developing applications for Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering disciplines and eight years of related experience with two (2) years of software engineering experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing software code and experience with agile software development (e.g., Scrum, ).
Experience with Python, C#, Java, Bash, C++, and/or SQL
Experience with secure application development practices and Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer)
Experience developing software in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data mining, deep learning, distributed computing, optimal heuristic search, stochastic modeling, probability modeling, data analytics, computer vision, computer/network security, and cryptography
